Vans on the run will once again host our annual event at Knox County Fairgrounds,in Mt Vernon, Ohio. May 7-9, 2021. This last year has been tough on vanning, but we are getting back into the swing of things. There will be ample room to distance, and our sat meal will be "to go" so you can decide where to comsume it. Either with friends of back at your own campsite. Live music and activities as usual. Hoping to see you there!

THANK YOU VANNERS!.. THE 39TH NATS. WAS A HUGE SUCCESS. we are still trying to recoup, and get our energy back. Over the next few weeks we will be posting some final info on the NATS and passing along some fun stories of the entire week. The final count was 614 vans through the gate. The significance of that is for the first time ever, the Nats attendance was larger that the previous time it was in the same state. Also if you average the last 3 years attendance, it was a 30% increase in attendance. not to bad concidering the economy and gas prices. The last time Ohio had the Nats, gas was about $1.75. So way to go Vanners! And yes, the pig did actually fly... more on that later!!!

Seems there are some of you who are having problems finding info on our blog. Most pertinent info is in the flyer. You'll find the flyer down the page on the left side. If it is to small to read, click on the image and it will expand to full screen. You can also blow it up bigger if you wish. Information not available at the time we printed the flyer, will be added periodically here on the left side in a new post. Questions that we are asked repeatedly will be posted in the FAQ section on the right side of the blog. Vendor, trophy sponsor, bible adds, and contact info is also listed in the right hand column. You can ask questions, make constructive suggestions ,or comments, 2 ways. At the bottom of each post, on the left side there is a place for comments. Click on it and you can leave a question or comment that will be seen by anyone who wishes to read the comment section. We will post an answer or response there also, where everyone will see it. On the right side you will find the

Why are we doing this?

With the new year, we are quickly closing in on the 39 th National Truck-in. I've had several people ask, why in the world would a group our size, take on something like the National Truck-in? Well ,that is a real kicker of a question. As you may know Vans On The Run hosted the 16 th Nationals in 1988. Shortly there after, we had some people ask if we would do it again, and at least one of our previous members replied" WHEN PIGS FLY".. We are 23 years removed from that event and we figured it was time to do our share again. Vanning has slowly gotten smaller over that period and the number of van clubs and groups willing to take on a task this important to vanning has dwindled to a hand full. There are still many vanners who enjoy the vans and the vanners , but unless some one is willing to put forth the effort to keep it going, there wont be anything for us to do anymore. We have hosted Spring Back, since 1978. Putting on an event each year, has been the catalyst for ke

SPRING BACK 2010

The weekend of May 7,8,9 2010, was the 30th time we have done Spring Back, our van event. The weekend started out fine, with warm weather on Thursday when we first arived at the Knox County fairgrounds. We proceded to set up the tarp covers and get the gate ready to start letting in the vans. Before we could get that done there were 35 vans showed up to get that favorite spot. On friday we proceded to set up the stage and the game areas. The skies started to cloud over while 70 more vans were rolling in. Late friday evening a storm came through that rivaled Katrina. We lost all out tarp covers, and a few other things. The winds continued to blow all day Saturday also. We ended up having many of our activities inside, including the van show. At least it wasnt raining. We served up dinner for the entire truck-in that evening, and the party rolled into the night with the band and trick or treet to go with the holloween theme, Including the "who can build the biggest fire" competition
